I. Germany in Dire Need of 150,000 Nurses From Foreign Countries

Germany is currently dealing with a shortage in its healthcare sector, with the country saying that it needs around 150,000 additional nursing staff by 2025. The trend of nurse shortage in Germany has been evident for years, and for this reason, the authorities are trying to attract more foreign nurses to the country through the international recruitment programme, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

II. Newly Approved Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Health Education

The Andalusian Minister council approved this Wednesday the agreement that establishes the official status of certain bachelor’s degrees and their registration in the Registry of Universities, Centers and Degrees, in addition to certain master’s degrees. Among them, there are several that join the university education in health matters and the agreement includes the Medicine degree at Loyola Andalusia University which started its classes in the middle of November, despite the criticism generated among public faculties for the “impossibility” of guaranteeing quality teaching after two months in which the rest of the universities had already started their Medicine courses.

III. SEHA's Ambulatory Healthcare Services Launches Training Programme For School Nurses For 2023-24

The Ambulatory Healthcare Services, part of the PureHealth network -the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East, has launched a training programme for school nurses working at public schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the academic year 2023-2024, within the framework of supporting and empowering school nursing staff who involved in the school screening program for school students, which was launched by Abu Dhabi Public Health Center.

IV. Qatari nursing leader highlights advancement in healthcare

Doha, Qatar: Acting Chief Nursing Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation, Mariam Nooh Al Mutawa (pictured) has shed light on the transformative journey of nursing and midwifery services in Qatar, emphasizing their crucial role in the country’s healthcare system. Al Mutawa, a proud Qatari nurse, reminisced about the inception of nursing in Qatar during the late 1940s, coinciding with the establishment of the nation’s first hospital.
